We would like to introduce you to Copper Douglas, the Golden Retriever.
He is the official Overseer, Greeter, Mail Carrier, Emotional Therapist, and Deliverer of Good Happy Fuzzies!
How long have you been in the Jewelry business?
I have been serving the public since 2020. I was a mere puppy, only 8 weeks old. Being a “Golden” Retriever, I think the jewelry business was more of a calling than anything else. I wanted to make my parents proud.
What are your hobbies & enjoyments?
While I love early morning walks, catching frisbees, and doing fancy tricks, my favorite hobby is to be admired. On a regular sunny day, I place myself right by the entrance of the jewelry store so that every single customer has a chance to bestow admiration upon me. There are some, in fact, that stop in simply to see me! I enjoy knowing that I am the best part of their day.
What do you like best about the retail Jewelry Business?
The jewelry business offers me a chance to live up to my name. I am, in every sense of the word, a Golden Retriever. The “golden” part is, of course, to be admired as I regularly make sure that my coat shines and shimmers, much like the jewelry in our cases. However, the “retriever” part is where I get to display my superb skill set. For instance, I not only help with mail delivery, but I also help with my human’s lunchbox delivery, too. Speaking of lunch, I am an amazing watchdog. I can instantly eliminate a fallen crumb that dares to invade my territory. Watch out, crumbs! Sadly, I cannot catch them when they viciously fly at me.
Did you always want to be in the Jewelry Business?
I would have been content in any retail business. However, this jewelry business has something that no other jewelry business does—my humans! I love them very much! From what I understand, the jewelry business was their idea. As a puppy, I wanted to make them happy. Now, I get to make other people happy, too! Going to the store almost every day as an 8-week-old, I learned to be gentle. Now, I wag my tail and anxiously hop into my human’s car to bring smiles to other humans that come into our store!
Where did you get your experience & training?
You will be pleased to know that I am a certified good dog! Although I have always been a good dog, I learned to be a very good dog by going to various trainings: beginner groups, personal training, doggy day care, and trick classes. My experience came from my predecessor, Leo (Mark and Ruth’s dog before Copper), and from regularly going to the jewelry store.
Would you like to share anything else?
Yes. Between the diamonds, the gold, and my coat, this place practically gleams! I simply do my best to keep up with the sparkle!
